Welcome to Tarkanian Basketball Academy, a facility built by the Tarkanian family for the sole purpose of giving the Las Vegas community a place to develop and groom today’s youth in the sport of basketball. It is our goal at TBA to teach basketball fundamentals at every level. The sport of basketball has gotten away from the basics as a lot of kids today rely strictly on athleticism. TBA is ready to to get Las Vegas basketball back on the map.

Runnin’ Rebels to a national championship. The 1990 team was led by none other than Larry “grandma-ma” Johnson, Stacey Augman, Greg Anthony, David Butler, Anderson Hunt, Dave Rice, and TBA’s own Moses Scurry.  During the late 80′s and early 90′s, the Rebels were known

throughout the country as a high octane offense and an intense-pressuring defense.  Tark’s teams were also known for playing hard. He is one of a few college coaches to have won 20 seasons with three different teams (Long Beach State, UNLV, and Fresno State). He reached the NCAA Final Four in 1977, 1987, 1990, and 1991. Jerry’s oldest son, Danny, was an academic all American college basketball player while playing for his father at UNLV. Coach Jerry is married to Lois Tarkanian, a Las Vegas City Councilwoman.
